Spiritual Waterholes

This artwork was inspired by the waterholes that are sacred to Mount Barney, located just outside of Beaudesert. The piece captures the vibrant colors and intricate patterns of the surrounding landscape, evoking the spiritual connection between First Nations people and the natural world.

Water has always played a vital role in First Nations culture, with many traditional stories and rituals centered around it. For my people, Mununjali people, the waterholes are not only a source of sustenance and life, but also a place of deep spiritual significance. We believe that these waterholes are the dwelling places of ancestral spirits and that they hold the key to our cultural identity and heritage.

This artwork is a celebration of the rich cultural heritage of First Nations people and reminds us of the importance of preserving and protecting these sacred sites for future generations to come.
